About Magasin1
Since the autumn of 2018, when we took over the business at the harbor in Mörbylånga, we have been developing Magasin1 to create the experience of our beloved Öland that we want to share with you.
We want you to feel welcome and at home — but a little bit spoiled — when you visit us at Magasin1.
We look forward to meeting you!
Felix and Jonas Everbrand

Magasin1 – A Rich History
Magasin1 takes its name from the two buildings that form the foundation of the business, and from the property designation “Magasinet1.”
The oldest part of the property was built in the mid-1800s, and it is said to have been used for making wine from apples and pears grown nearby.
When the railway arrived in the town at the beginning of the 1900s, right next to Magasin1, the building was expanded and an extra floor was added.
Since then, it has served as a warehouse, a store for agricultural supplies, and eventually as a restaurant — and today also as a hotel.
When we took over the business in the autumn of 2018, there were just 8 hotel rooms and the operation was only open during the summer. Since then, we have been renovating and developing the property.
Torg1 – Newly renovated rooms in a Turn-of-the-Century Villa
The merchant’s villa we now call Torg1 was built around 1910 by Customs Superintendent Axel Eklöf, and was originally known as the Eklöf Villa. Over the years, the villa has served many purposes — as a private residence, a dining establishment, staff housing, the district sheriff’s office, and a bed and breakfast.
In February 2024, we had the opportunity to purchase this beautiful property, along with the adjoining “Stone House”. With its prime location right next to Magasin1, it allows us to offer even more guests a beautiful and peaceful stay close to the harbor in Mörbylånga.
By the 2024 season, we had completed the renovation of four rooms, and by summer 2025, both floors will be fully renovated, offering a total of eight rooms and the “Stone House” for booking — all within the charming villa, surrounded by a lovely garden next to Mörbylånga’s main square.

Meet the owners of Magasin1 – “Felix” and Jonas
We, who run Magasin1, are “Felix” and Jonas. Felix is a nickname that has stayed with me since my teenage years. My real name is Åsa, but I prefer to be called Felix.
I am originally an agronomist and have worked for many years supporting Sweden’s farmers — which sparked my deep interest in all the wonderful products they create, and which we are now proud to serve at Magasin1.
My lifelong passion has been horses, something you’ll notice in various details around Magasin1. For many years, we lived on eastern Öland, where we had a small hobby horse farm.
Nature and the environment are also close to my heart, and there are few better places to live than southern Öland — right in the middle of the beautiful World Heritage site, the Agricultural Landscape of Southern Öland.
My husband Jonas originally comes from the tourism industry and studied tourism at university, but has since worked mainly as an economist and manager. In his spare time, Jonas loves to build and renovate — something that is clearly reflected in the many thoughtful details at Magasin1.
